About Coaching

What is Life/Career Coaching?

Quite simply, Life or Career Coaching is a process that helps you get “unstuck” and make empowering changes in your life. Life and Career Coaching is a powerful way to remove obstacles and cross the bridge to a more rewarding and fulfillling life or work experience. During times of transition (changing jobs, careers, retirement, divorce), Life and Career Coaching can help you define your priorities, develop an action plan and better navigate the ups and downs of change.

How the Power of Coaching can Transform your Career

Does this sound like you? You dread going to work on Mondays because you’re tired of the work, your boss doesn’t appreciate you and you are losing your self-confidence. In short, you are feeling stuck. You wonder what’s wrong with you and are puzzled as to why you can’t figure this out on your own.

Finally, you decide to try Career Coaching with the hope of finding a more meaningful career—where your knowledge, skills, and abilities are valued. Most importantly where you create a strategy that lands you a terrific job doing what you love and pays well.

Indeed, by the end of our coaching journey you will leave with the following key things:

  • feeling empowered to take charge of your life,
  • knowing you have a solid plan to move forward in your career and life,
  • with a cover letter and resume that are spot on for the job you are seeking,
  • with effective ways to communicate your unique value in networking and job interviews,
  • a new-found sense of confidence and courage, and
  • actually landing that terrific job doing what you love and pays well.

Why should I hire you instead of another coach?

Because I am highly intuitive, strategic and yet tactical and very focused and solutions oriented so you achieve your coaching goals quicker and to your complete satisfaction. With over ten years of experience and continuing coaching education, as a Career and Life Coach, I am highly trained to help you clarify what you want to achieve, find fresh solutions and strategies, develop an action plan – and most importantly, keep you on track and moving forward until you reach your goals. I don’t just help you get “unstuck” — I stick with you until you get where you want to be.

In our sessions, you will:

  • Appreciate what’s working in your life and then build on those strengths
Explore new ideas and skills
  • Eliminate counterproductive behavior
  • Improve communication and interpersonal skills
  • Obtain fresh perspectives on tough issues
Find inventive solutions to immediate and long-term concerns
  • Develop action plans to achieve your goals and objectives

How does Coaching differ from therapy or consulting?

Therapy deals with mental illness and disorders; consulting deals with expert advice. Life, Career and Leadership Coaching is present and future action-oriented, helping you develop the strategies and action plans to achieve your goals and objectives.

How does Coaching work, how much does it cost?

The coaching process is one of discovery in which I will design exercises, assessments and tools specific to you and your career objectives/goals.  As your coach we will then design a strategy to get you the desired new job, career, promotion or transition to re-wiring instead of retiring.  I will work with you at every step in the process until you achieve your goals.  We will meet or talk by phone usually 2 times a month for 1 to 1.5 hours and you will be given specific action items to do between meetings that you have agreed to be held accountable for.  The fee is $400 a month, which includes all meetings, calls or emails in between meeting, any handouts, assessments or books assigned.  Once we complete your goals and end the formal coaching you can call or email with questions, or issues for free for as long as I continue to coach.

A typical coaching engagement lasts 3-4 months.  However, some may need a shorter or longer period of coaching depending on the nature or complexity of their issues.  There is no “one size fits all” to coaching given that we all are wonderfully complex and unique.
